Royal BAM Group is the largest construction company in the Netherlands with ten operating companies in five European markets and niche markets worldwide. BAM employs approximately 20,000 people with €7.2B revenue recorded in 2019.


Business Requirement

Smart meters for electricity and gas customers became a mandated requirement by the Dutch Government. They asked utility companies, like BAM, to submit RFPs to bid for the smart meter installation project.

BAM learnt that a software vendor was also bidding for the meter project, this vendor intended to subcontract the meter installation part of the requirement. This encouraged BAM to consider adding a software solution to supplement their installation capabilities providing an end-to-end service, from one
provider.

Erie Insurance’s agents were reporting that their experience with the process for selling Commercial policies was inefficient and manually intensive, requiring telephone calls, e-mails with up to two-day turnaround times.
